The first three Lizzie Crenshaw mysteries in one book!
Death of a Cantankerous Old Coot - Someone has killed Amos Gardner, one of the leading citizens of Brookdale. The sheriff wonders if it has something to do with the lawsuit Amos filed against his own granddaughter, Lizzie Crenshaw. When someone tries to kill Amos' wife, she points the finger at Lizzie, who must work with the new deputy to figure out what is going on before she is either thrown in jail...or becomes a victim herself.
Death Makes the Front Page - Lizzie Crenshaw, who is now working at the local newspaper, sees someone assaulting her boss, Dale Gordon. Hours later, Dale's assailant ends up dead. As Lizzie helps Sheriff Owen Greene investigate, details about Dale's past come back to haunt him when they learn he has a past connection to the dead man. Did Dale exact a dish of cold revenge, or is someone setting him up to take the fall? It's up to Lizzie and her friends to discover the truth, before she ends up a blurb on the obit page in the newspaper.
Death Stalks the Law - Debra Cosgrove, has come back to town, and Lizzie's life begins to fall apart. It seems people who are close to Lizzie are keeping secrets, and Aunt Debra knows what those secrets are. Adding to the confusion is an old college boyfriend of Lizzie's who seems to have ulterior motives. When an explosion seriously injures an FBI agent as well as Lizzie, all bets are off. Secrets are exposed, and Lizzie has to try to pick up the pieces while trying to keep Aunt Debra from killing someone she loves.

Lizzie Crenshaw holds your interest. She is mostly tough enough to make women feel pride, but not so unbelievable that they can't relate to her. While she does fall into that somewhat annoying cliche of having every man in authority warn her to " stay out of the investigation" and "don't do anything stupid" she doesn't use it as a filler because there's really nothing else to say - as do some cozy authors. She's vulnerable because even though everyone wants her, her publisher to run the paper, her local lawman to be her boyfriend, they are all using her. And that makes her more relatable and more sympathetic. She may go a bit too far in having two menopausal serial killers, and she leaves a major loose end with the old boyfriend who moves to town, but otherwise it met my personal cozy test - it didn't annoy me.Product details

Lizzie Crenshaw Mysteries Box Set of 3 edition by Teresa Watson Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks Reviews
I highly recommend this mystery trio to armchair detectives everywhere. Lizzie Crenshaw and her pals will keep you guessing to the last page!
Really liked this series! Kept me intrigued all the way to the end, (ending was a surprise).
The characters were described so that it was easy to imagine them, as well as their attitudes.
This was very enjoyable. I highly recommend.
Maybe 2-1/2 stars. Not sure why these books get such good reviews. The characters are extremely annoying. The Sheriff is basically bumbling. The deputy not fleshed out enough. Lizzie is okay, but her mother, really? Lizzie's lying in a hospital and her mother cares about appearances and other ridiculous things. The old biddy at the restaurant is the one who should get murdered next. Sometimes entertaining, but mostly not,
I read the 3 in a row. I was neither turned off nor intensely interested. I found the complexities of the characters somewhat off putting. Had to keep reaffirming who was doing what. Lizzie is an interesting protagonist and I can see reading more of her works in the next couple of years. For now, I've had enough
I gave this book a five because it was a very good read that kept me going back to the pages every chance I could. It kept you wondering who the murderer really was. In the end you found out that Deborah was a killer with a heart. She never really tried to hurt her niece, Lizzie. I would recommend this series of books to anyone who likes reading mysteries.
The Lizzie
Crenshaw Mysteries -- Box Set of 3 is a delightful read. I read them in one sitting! The stories were fun and light set in a small town where everyone knows everyone and is in everyone's business. I recommend the Lizzie Crenshaw Mysteries.
I enjoyed these mysteries. All the characters were well defined and you did not know who the true villain was until the end. I like to read series. Stand alone books are okay but once you get yourself involved in te lives of the characters of a book you want to find out what happens next. (at least I do). This was a ver good series. A matter of fact I purchased the rest of the series and I'm looking forward to more.
